The Assiniboine Regional Health Authority (ARHA) is the service provider for health care in southwestern Manitoba. The population of the ARHA is estimated at 71,497[1]. ARHA provides health services in the following communities: Baldur, Minnedosa, Birtle, Neepawa, Boissevain, Carberry, Rivers, Cartwright, Deloraine, Russell, Elkhorn, Erickson, Glenboro, Souris, Hamiota, Treherne, Hartney, Virden, Killarney, Melita, Wawanesa, Shoal Lake, Strathclair, Reston, and Sandy Lake.

ARHA operates 20 acute care facilities, 1 transitional care unit, 28 long-term care facilities, and 7elderly persons housing units. The ARHA provides public health, mental health, diagnostic, emergency medical, and home care services. There are sixty-four physicians providing medical services in the area.
